A Story of Hope, Dignity, and Collective Strength

In the green heart of Tikrikilla, Meghalaya, a quiet but powerful movement began—rooted in faith, cooperation, and the belief that every tribal person deserves dignity, equality, and opportunity. That movement is Muktidata Multipurpose Cooperative Society (MMCS), and its living expression today is Megh Farm.

Our History

A Humble Beginning, A Powerful Growth

MMCS was founded on 10th October 2015 with just 20 courageous women who dared to dream of a better future for their families and communities. What began as a small cooperative has today grown into a strong family of 3,800 members.

Registered under No. T-3 of 2017–2018, MMCS stands as a symbol of grassroots leadership and people-driven development.

The cooperative was founded and is guided by Rev. Fr. Benoy Joseph, Founder and Managing Director. The leadership of Smt. Wilna Marak, the First President, and Smt. Nelco Sangma, the First Secretary, laid a strong foundation of integrity, women’s leadership, and collective responsibility.

Processing Hub

MEGH FARM PROCESSING HUB – KHAMARI

A historic milestone was achieved with the inauguration of the Megh Farm Processing Hub at Khamari on 10th February 2024 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Conrad K. Sangma, in the presence of Hon’ble MP Smt. Agatha K. Sangma, Hon’ble MLAs Shri Jimmy D. Sangma and Shri Lemison D. Sangma, Hon’ble MDC Shri Dormonath Sangma, and Deputy Commissioner Shri Jagadish Chelani.

Our Story

It all started when a visionary Cleric looked at the lush, green hills of Meghalaya, overflowing with nature's bounty, and thought, "Why keep all this goodness a secret?" And just like that, MEGHFARM was born!

We started MEGHFARM, a proud subsidiary unit of the MUKTIDATA MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE SOCIETY in 2024, with a vision to stand as a beacon of agricultural innovation and empowerment for the farmers.

Inaugurated by Shri Conrad K Sangma, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Meghalaya, and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including juice plants, dehydration units, and cold storage with blast freezers, this hub is designed to significantly reduce post-harvest losses, enhance the market value of agricultural produce, and foster sustainable livelihoods for farmers across the region.
